  • The annual CES tech show is where many of the year's upcoming consumer electronics are unveiled.
  • While there are plenty of great products, these are the ones we are looking forward to.

CES, the year's biggest tech show, is coming to a close. Though this year's event had limited in-person attendance, that didn't stop companies from showcasing their latest and greatest products.

Exhibitors from every category in the consumer electronics space debuted brand-new devices, including many you'll actually be able to buy in 2022. From vibrant 4K TVs to super-smart robot vacuums, there's no shortage of exciting tech gear to look forward to.

We'll have to wait to get real hands-on time with these products, but based on our tech expertise and all the details revealed so far, there are several standout items that are particularly impressive.

Below, we rounded up some of the coolest tech products and devices revealed at CES 2022. Though specific release dates and pricing are still pending for some of our picks, every item we selected is set to launch this year.

Samsung Freestyle
The Samsung Freestyle Lifestyle light sitting on a table in a room — CES 2022 best tech products

What is it: Samsung's Freestyle is a new portable entertainment device that combines a projector and smart speaker into one compact package. It supports 1080p projection at up to 100 inches, offers access to a wide variety of streaming apps, and delivers 360-degree sound with built-in Alexa voice control.

Why we think it's cool: The Freestyle stands out from other compact projectors thanks to its rotating cradle that makes it look like a portable spotlight. It also has automatic picture adjustments that could make it a breeze to set up virtually anywhere. It can even plug into an overhead light socket so you can project onto the floor or a table.

What's questionable: The Freestyle is being geared as a lifestyle entertainment product, so don't expect high-end picture quality here. Instead, this is something that could be fun for casual viewing around the house or on the go.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: You can preorder the Freestyle now for $900. The estimated delivery is February 8, 2022. — Steven Cohen, Technology Editor

Sony A95K QD OLED 4K TV
Sony A95K QD OLED 4K TV in living room

What is it: Sony's latest flagship 4K OLED TV, the A95K, carries over everything we loved about its 2021 models, including perfect black levels and an infinite contrast ratio. This new TV also adds an advanced color technology, called quantum dots, for even better picture performance.

Why we think it's cool: Why we think it's cool: The A95K is set to be the first consumer OLED (a type of screen that individually illuminates or shuts off pixels) to use quantum dots, and the feature will allow the TV to look more vibrant than any other OLED on the market. On typical OLED displays, colors can wash out in bright scenes, but Sony says quantum dots let the A95K maintain bold, accurate saturation.

What's questionable: Though quantum dots will make colors look more vibrant, Sony says we shouldn't expect a big jump in the TV's overall brightness compared to last year's top OLEDs.

Dell XPS 13 Plus
The Dell XPS 13 Plus on a black table

What is it: The next generation of Dell's most popular laptop, the XPS 13 Plus is a sleek computer that's built around the latest and most powerful Intel Core processors. In lieu of click buttons, it uses a seamless glass touchpad surface and replaces the function keys with a top row of touch-sensitive function buttons (think the 2016-2020 MacBook Pro).

Why we think it's cool: Dell's updated RapidCharge Express 2.0 technology can charge the battery up to 80% in under an hour. Innovations like this can benefit users and keep Dell ahead of rivals.

What's questionable: The above-mentioned "touch" features (which Apple recently abandoned), only having two USB-C ports, and no headphone jack.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: The laptop will release sometime in Spring 2022, starting at $1,200. — Joe Osborne, Senior Technology Editor

LG S95QR Soundbar
The LG S95QR soundbar and subwoofer system

What is it: LG's new S95QR is a premium soundbar system that includes separate rear speakers, a dedicated subwoofer, and up-firing drivers that can bounce audio off your ceiling. It supports a whopping 9.1.5 channels so you'll get genuine Dolby Atmos surround sound with effects from all directions, including overhead.

Why we think it's cool: The S95QR stood out from other soundbars announced at CES 2022 thanks to its unique up-firing center channel. This center channel is designed to elevate dialogue and make it sound like speech is actually coming from your TV screen to create a more cinematic experience.

What's questionable: Though the up-firing center sounds cool on paper, it remains to be seen how well this feature works. We're excited to test it out, but the design could end up being a gimmick.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: LG hasn't announced pricing and an exact launch date, but the S95QR is set for release in 2022. — Steven Cohen, Technology Editor

Garmin Venu 2 Plus

What is it? This is an updated version of the recently released Garmin Venu 2 fitness smartwatch. The Garmin Venu 2 Plus features voice compatibility with Google Assistant, Siri, and Bixby, as well as the ability to make and receive phone calls.

Why we think it's cool: The addition of voice commands and phone calls means you don't have to rely on your phone as much when you're on the go, which is a welcome feature for the multitasker in all of us.

What's questionable: The price. Spending $400-and-up on a smartwatch isn't exactly a "budget" purchase. But Garmin does make some of the best wearables on the market, and the Venu 2 Plus is yet another highly premium product in its lineup.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: The Garmin Venu 2 Plus is available now for $450. – Rick Stella, Health and Fitness Editor

Movano Ring
4 of the Movano Rings arranged together

What is it? The Movano Ring monitors a wearer's sleep habits, heart rate, respiration, blood oxygen levels, body temperature, and other health vitals. The company announced it's also participating in two separate studies, one on blood-pressure monitoring and the other on glucose-level monitoring, with hopes of adding those features to the Movano Ring in the future.

Why we think it's cool: The Movano Ring goes beyond typical health and fitness tracking and is less of a novelty wearable. It provides legitimate health insight. And, if the brand is able to get it officially cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, it would classify as a medical device, adding to its already long list of benefits.

What's questionable: It comes with a lot of "ifs". The Movano Ring doesn't enter its beta phase until the second half of 2022, and it's unknown just how successful its blood-pressure and glucose-monitoring studies will turn out.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: A beta release of the Movano Ring is expected to occur during the second half of 2022; the price is to be determined. — Rick Stella, Health and Fitness Editor

Intel Arc dedicated graphics processors
The Intel Arc graphics processor chip

What is it: The Arc is Intel's dedicated graphics processor (or GPU) for laptops and desktops.

Why we think it's cool: Intel hasn't offered dedicated graphics hardware since 1999, a field now dominated by Nvidia and AMD. It gives PC gamers more choice in graphics cards and could spur rivals to lower prices and innovate to stay ahead.

What's questionable: We don't know much about the performance potential beyond a leaked benchmark test that reports the entry-level Arc GPU is as competitive as Nvidia and AMD's budget options. While promising, Intel has backed out of this market in the past.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: It's unknown how much Intel's Arc GPUs will cost in PCs when they drop later this year, but more than 50 laptops featuring Intel Arc graphics are slated for 2022, with prices starting above $1,000. — Joe Osborne, Senior Technology Editor

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE smartphone

What is it: Samsung's Galaxy S21 FE is a reasonably priced "mid-range premium" phone that's based on Samsung's flagship Galaxy S21 lineup of 2021.

Why we think it's cool: The Galaxy S21 FE runs on one of Qualcomm's best 2021 processors, and it offers a versatile triple-lense camera system. It also comes with Samsung's excellent, colorful display with a buttery-smooth refresh rate, the ability to wirelessly charge other devices, and just about everything else found in the S21, although its back is plastic. That's a good amount of phone with only a few compromises for its $700 asking price.

What's questionable: It's puzzling that Samsung is introducing a new model based on a 2021 phone when 2022 phones will soon be announced. Also, the S21 FE is $100 less than the flagship S21, whereas the S20 FE was $300 off the S20. Still, a lower price is a lower price.

When you can buy it and how much it costs: The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be available on January 11, 2022, for $700 from Samsung, carriers, and major retailers. — Antonio Villas-Boas, Senior Technology Reporter
