Here's how to unlock over a month of BOGO free flights for you and a friend with Southwest Airlines
Now through April 5, booking a roundtrip (or two one-way flights) at Southwest unlocks a free flight for a friend anytime you both fly between Aug. 15 and Sept. 30.
It's officially spring — and officially time to hold yourself accountable for the summer travel plans that you and the crew brainstormed in hibernation.
If your budgets need help to keep up with your wanderlust, a current promo from Southwest treats any pair of besties to half-price tickets any time between Aug. 15 and Sept. 30.
Technically, this comes in the form of a free Companion Pass that allows the friend you bring to fly for free between those dates. To unlock the deal, all you have to do is book a single roundtrip (or two one-way) flights before April 5 and fly before May 24. (Obviously, your friend can come on that trip, too — their ticket just won't be free). If you both agree to go halfsies on all tickets to secure the deal for both of you, it's basically 50% off all of your tickets. Note that "free" does not include taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way.
Once you book the first flight to kick things off, Southwest will email you with the next steps on applying the Companion Pass to your Rapid Rewards account.
No, you don't have to bring the same person every time. You can change your designated Companion up to three times within the promotional period and treat multiple different friends to a weekend away. Yes, the Companion Pass applies to any destination serviced by Southwest, both within the U.S. and internationally.
