'A Haunting in Venice' trailer throws Hercule Poirot into a ghost story
If you've ever read an Agatha Christie mystery (or watched Jonathan Creek or Scooby Doo), you know it's never ghosts. There's always an explanation. However, the trailer for A Haunting in Venice will have you thinking otherwise.
Based upon the author's 1969 novel Hallowe’en Party, the film sees Kenneth Branaugh return as famous fictional detective Hercule Poirot, this time taking on a seemingly supernatural case in Italy's floating city. In post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, Poirot is retired as classic detectives always are —until he's invited to a séance and someone is murdered.
Like Branaugh's other two Poirot reboots, Murder on the Orient and Express and Death on the Nile, the cast is stracked: Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, and Riccardo Scamarcio. Who among you dunnit?
A Haunting in Venice will open in cinemas Sept. 15, 2023.
