Despite Being Surrounded By A Mall, She Couldn’t Allow Developers Have Their Way – What A Woman!

Edith Macefield lived a heroic life, learned English, French and joined the military. While in the military, officials sent her back from England when they learned she was under 18. She found her home when she returned to the United States and would then spend 60 years residing in the same house. Developers started buying her neighborhood in a move to turn it into a mall. Macefield was there to stay. They offered her lots of money, but she refused. So the stubborn developers built the mall around it. But with all these,Macefield made a pal. Barry Martin, the project manager, started checking on her and they became buddies. He was her caregiver when Macefield was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Martin said the woman wanted to die in her home. Macefield died in 2008 leaving her house with Martin.
