The Aussies seem to love two things recently: Winning gold medals and mistaken identities on Twitter.

It's happened again, as 18-year-old wunderkind Kyle Chalmers took out a shocking win at the 100m freestyle at the Rio Olympics, beating American Nathan Adrian and compatriot Cameron McEvoy to claim gold in the final on Wednesday night.

It's all terribly exciting, yes, but Australia, you might want to direct your Twitter-praise to the right person. 

A whole heap of people have given a congratulatory slap on the back to @kyle_chalmers on the social media platform, who is very bemused at the surprise, because well, it's not him. But he's not fazed (clearly). Read more...
