Elephants are part of those wild animals that are able to form social bonds with human beings after being tamed. In the video below, we meet Sangduen “Lek” Chaile (Elephant Nature Park Sanctuary’s founder) who is having a good time with an elephant. The location of this sanctuary is somewhere in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It looks like it’s going to hurt her but what happens is the most adorable thing which you will love to watch again and again. The video starts when the elephant heard her sing a lullaby. The elephant then raised its trunk and held her close as if to hug her. You could expect the worst to happen but then the elephant softens and lies down to sleep. The elephant seems to like the lullaby so much that it gets soothed to sleep. This behavior is not unique to this elephant. Most elephant in different parts of the world have been known to help humans do difficult tasks. Such tasks include pulling heavy logs of wood or carrying soldiers to battle in ancient times. Other people have used elephants to patrol difficult terrain or simply to entertain crowds. However, care should be taken when approaching wild elephants. They are not used to interacting with humans and may hurt someone if they feel scared.
