Horrifying Documentary Uncovers Mothers Selling Their Children to Pedophiles in the Philippines
A recent episode of the BBC docuseries “Stacey Dooley Investigates” revealed soulless Filipina mothers who eagerly advertised their own children to foreign pedophiles.
Dooley, a London-born presenter, traveled to the Philippines to film the episode titled “Mums Selling Their Kids for Sex”.
In the documentary, hidden footage revealed women trying to sell their children to “Mike,” an undercover agent with Homeland Security Investigations.
The women, who were also sisters, held some kids as young as five years old, Daily Mail reported. They assured Mike that the girls “can do sex.”
According to “Mike,” the mothers were ready to perform orders of paying clients via webcam, as long as the price is right. He told Dooley:
“Some of these guys sometimes ask for the most horrendous abuse of a child. They could ask for a child to be lit on fire, basically tortured. Some of these guys you read their [online chats], they’re obviously terribly sick people, they’re monsters.”
After gathering enough evidence, “Mike” and his team proceeded to capture the women.
Dooley interviewed the mothers following their arrest, but to her horror, they barely showed remorse and even blamed their children.
“It was the kids, they initiated it themselves,” one was quoted as saying. “Many youths do things they shouldn’t. There are things the parents can’t control. But I’m not selling [them]…”
To this, Dooley commented over the camera, “A, I know that’s a complete lie and B, to have that mentality when you’re supposed to be the person that protects them is just so depressing. It’s such a disappointment and they just confirm that it was right to take those kids away from them two.”
The mothers are facing up to a life sentence for child trafficking, child abuse and child pornography.
It wasn’t too long ago when another Filipina child abuser, 23-year-old Liezyl Margallo, fell into the hands of authorities. She happened to be an accomplice of Peter Gerard Scully, dubbed as “Australia’s worst pedophile.”
With her shocking discovery, Dooley can only feel sad:
“Part of you is delighted that the operation is going well because ultimately the kids are going to be safe and well in the future, but then you remind yourself that there are no real winners because these kids are going to have their mums taken away from them.
“It’s very sad, it’s very grey, and there is no black and white.”
