iPhone sales are flat leading up to the iPhone 8

Apple has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2017, and with revenue of over $52.9 billion, the tech giant is clearly doing just fine.

iPhone, however, is another matter, though there's no reason for Apple to worry just yet. Though Apple sold 50.8 million iPhones in the quarter ending April 1, this was slightly below the 52 million smartphones Wall Street expected it to sell.

The drop in sales from the quarter previous was 35%, not shocking considering Q1 2017 is the holiday shopping season. iPhone sales were down 1% from the same quarter last year, when Apple sold 51.1 iPhones.
