The best Australian EOFY tech deals
Tax-time sales are here again. The end of the financial year is often when retailers try and get rid of aging stock or work overtime to reach sales targets, with the result being massive discounts on a range of products – from cars to home appliances and plenty in between.
The TechRadar team is here to help you find the best tech products on sale for the cheapest prices. Note that some of the offers on our list end before 30 June, but we’ll keep this story continuously updated to include any new deals we find between now and the EOFY to help you snag the best bargains.

- Lenovo ThinkPad E470 ($699): Designed for productivity, this 14-inch laptop features an Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Lenovo is offering this device for a low $699, saving you $150. Offer ends 9pm on 2 June.
- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon ($from $1,729): Save $370 on Lenovo’s premium ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook – the company’s lightest, thinnest and more powerful X1 Carbon yet. The 14-inch laptop features a Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD. Sale ends 2 June.
- Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 460 ($1,459): Save a whopping $1,190 on Lenovo’s 14-inch ThinkPad Yoga 460 convertible featuring an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB memory and a 256GB SSD, along with a 2GB Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics card. It’s available online at Lenovo for $1,459 until 2 June, down from $2,649.
- Dell Inspiron 13 5378 2-in-1 laptop ($999): This 13-inch convertible laptop houses a 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor and comes with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. It also features a backlit keyboard, an infrared camera for facial recognition and a Full HD touchscreen display. It also happens to be on sale at the Microsoft Store for $999, saving you $400 on the RRP of $1,399.
- Dell XPS 13 Z511203AU 2-in-1 laptop ($2,499): This is the smallest 13-inch 2-in-1 from Dell and it features an QHD+ (3200 x 1800) InfinityEdge display that gives you an almost edge-to-edge screen. It’s powered by an 7th-generation Intel Core i7 CPU and has a 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM. Save $300 on this premium device at the Microsoft Store and get it for $2,499.
- Dell XPS 15 laptop (from $2,599): Dell labels its premium 15-inch XPS laptop as a powerhouse, promising great performance with an InfinityEdge display for sharp images. Powered by a 7th-generation Intel Core i7 CPU, this Windows machine features 32GB of memory, a 1TB SSD and a 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 video card. This mean machine retails at $3,699, but it’s on sale at the Microsoft Store for $3,199, saving you $500 on the RRP. If you don’t need a whopping 1TB of storage, you can opt for the 16GB RAM/512GB SSD version for $2,599, saving you $400.
PC ACCESSORIES
- WD My Passport Ultra portable external hard drives ($79): Inundated with too many files you can’t store on your computer for lack of storage? Get yourself a 2TB My Passport Ultra portable external hard drive from WD and you can carry all your data wherever you go. Kogan has them on sale at the moment for $79, saving you $61. They’re available in black and white. Plus you get a bonus WD case valued at $19.99.
- HP OfficeJet 6950 all-in-one printer ($99): Great for home use or the office, this HP printer promises to print up to 2.5 times as many pages if you use HP High-yield ink cartridges, which could prove economical in the long run. Plus it can easily be connected to a handheld device for printing from a smartphone or tablet. Head to JB Hi-Fi and grab it for $99 and save yourself $50 in the bargain.
- HP Envy 4523 all-in-one printer ($49): HP designed this sleek-looking printer for your home with a price tag that won’t scare you away. This all-in-one printer retails for $79, but you can get it for just $49 at JB Hi-Fi and take care of all your printing needs for less.
- Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5050 keyboard ($68): Look after your posture while you work with this wireless keyboard and mouse set from Microsoft. This ergonomically designed set retails for $129.95, but you can save $61.95 when purchasing it from Tandy for just $68.
SMARTPHONES & ACCESSORIES
- Huawei Mate 9 ($749): This a phablet boasts a robust build, an impressive camera, powerful processor and great battery life. It also comes with a premium price tag of $999, but you can save $249 by getting it the gold model from Tandy for $764.
- Samsung Galaxy A7 ($549): The latest Samsung flagship is flooding the market, but that doesn’t mean the other phones from the South Korean manufacturer aren’t any good. This Galaxy A7 is one of the best mid-range Android phones in the market. It’s thin, with a great display and is currently on sale at Tandy for $549. That’s a cool $250 off on the regular retail price of $799.
- Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime ($300.87): This 5.5-inch handset doesn’t compare to its Galaxy S8 counterpart, but it does feature a fingerprint scanner on the home button and a power-saving mode to help conserve battery life when you need it the most. There’s 32GB of onboard storage and 3GB RAM, plus a microSD slot that can support up to 256GB. It retails for $499, but you can save nearly $200 on it by getting it from T-Dimension for just over $300. Keep in mind that this could be an international model, so make sure you’ll be able to use it in Australia before finalising the purchase.
- Sony Xperia XZ ($679): This premium handset from Sony offers pretty much everything you’d expect from a flagship phone, plus it isn’t afraid of a bit of water. This 5.2-inch smartphone features a Full HD curved display and 32GB of onboard storage with the option of increasing it to 256GB via a microSD card. And you can save $220 on this phone at Tandy, where it’s on sale for $679.
- Samsung Tab A 10.1 ($299): The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 comes with a 10-inch screen running at a 1920 x 1200 resolution, as well as having a capable Exynos 7870 mid-range processor and 3GB of RAM packed inside – great for streaming videos and being entertained while on the go. Plus you can save $150 on this Android 6.0 Marshmallow-toting device by getting it from Kogan for just $299. That’s down from $449.
- Samsung Fast Charging wireless stand ($69): Samsung’s Fast Charge wireless pad outputs at up to 9 volts 1 amp, for 9W of power rather than the usual 5W. Samsung says it'll charge your phone from flat in 120 minutes. So if your handset is a Qi charging-enabled device, you can forget cables and to add some juice to your phone. It’s available for $69 on Kogan, saving you $50 on the RRP of $119.
AUDIO & VIDEO
- Audio-Technica QuietPoint Active noise-cancelling headphones ($109): These cans from Audio-Technica promise to reduce ambient noise by up to 87% and features a detachable cable if you want to go wireless. The headphones retail for up to $159 apiece, but you can currently score a pair from Rubber Monkey for just $109.
