LIVE: Amazon earnings (AMZN)

Amazon is set to report its second quarter earnings after the bell on Thursday. 

Wall Street has somewhat modest expectations for the e-commerce and cloud computing giant. Analysts polled by Bloomberg are expecting Amazon to report:

• EPS (GAAP) of $1.42 a share. In the year-ago period, Amazon earned $1.78 a share.
• Revenues of $37.2 billion. Amazon posted sales of $30.4 billion in the second quarter last year.

Additionally Wall Street will be expecting guidance from the company for its third quarter. Analysts are forecasting that Amazon will earn $1.48 a share on $35.7 billion in sales in the period.
