OnePlus 5T benchmark shows us it's mostly the OnePlus 5 under the hood

The OnePlus 5T is rumored to be launching next month and a new leak of benchmarking for the phone shows you likely won't be too disappointed if you already own a OnePlus 5.

A new listing from AnTuTu shows the phone will come packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is the same configuration as we saw perform well on the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5 is one of the fastest phones available this year, so setting it up with a similar amount of RAM and the same chipset makes a lot of sense.

However, the leak shows there will be a different display used for the phone, which we've seen pictured in previous leaks.

It suggests there will be a Full HD resolution with a 2:1 ratio, so it'll have limited bezels in a similar way to the Galaxy S8 or iPhone X.

The benchmarks also suggests there will be a dual 20MP sensor camera on the rear rather than the dual 16MP shooter on the OnePlus 5.

Unremarkable upgrades

Whether there will be multiple RAM variants of the OnePlus 5 is unclear at the moment, but leaks have suggested you'll have the choice of either 64GB or 128GB of storage.

This leak was attained by GizChina and whether the specs are accurate is unclear, but the codename on the leak makes sense. It's A5010 which follows on after the OnePlus 5 was called the A5000 before launch.

According to another leak the price of the OnePlus 5T will be set to increase over the OnePlus 5, which launched at $479 (£449, AU$599).

Chinese retailer site OppoMart (spotted by TechnoCodex) posted early links to the new phone with prices of $549 for the 64GB variant and $649 for the larger 128GB version.

Considering right now just the screen and the camera are set for upgrades, it remains unclear if this will be worth the extra money but we hope to see more from OnePlus on the 5T very soon.
