Exterminators Find Bottles of Preserved Dead Babies Beneath Floorboards in Tokyo Home
Preserved bodies of dead babies were recently discovered inside an abandoned house in Japan.
According to Express UK, the shocking discovery was made only after a new owner reportedly bought the property in Tokyo and decided to renovate it.
The report on Monday revealed that termite exterminators found the bodies of several babies found in bottles, some with umbilical cords still attached. Investigators noted that they appear to have been preserved in a substance similar to formalin.
The previous owners of the property, who lived in the 80-year-old home many decades ago, were reportedly both obstetricians and gynecologists. These specialists, sometimes referred to as OB/GYNs, focus on the female reproductive system, pregnancy, and childbirth.
According to Kyodo news agency (via Reuters), three or four bottles were hidden beneath the floorboards of the house in Hakusan, Bunkyo Ward which has been a rental property for the last 20 years and left uninhabited about three years ago.
Bunko Ward, a residential and educational center in the Japanese capital of Tokyo, has a population of over 200,000 people.
Details, such as the ages of the babies and how long they have been in the house, have not been revealed. Police are currently investigating the incident and declined to provide further details.
