'Making a Murderer' case will not be heard by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal for a conviction that was the center of the Netflix series Making a Murderer, the Washington Post reports.
As covered on the docu-series, 17-year-old Brendan Dassey was found guilty of sexual assault and first-degree murder after he allegedly assisted his uncle, Steven Avery, in the rape and murder of Teresa Halbach.
Dassey was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison. Though no physical evidence linked him to the crimes, Dassey admitted to police in 2005 that he helped. In 2016, the conviction was overturned after a judge determined that Dassey's confession was coerced by police. Read more...
