Fujifilm Unveils the Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 and 8-16mm f/2.8
Fujifilm has announced two new lenses for its X Series line of mirrorless cameras: an XF 200mm f/2 OIS telephoto lens and an 8-16mm f/2.8 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens. There’s also a new 1.4X teleconverter.
Fujinon XF200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR and 1.4X TC
The new Fujinon 200mm f/2 OIS is Fujifilm’s first super-fast telephoto lens in the XF stable. It has a maximum aperture of f/2.0 and a 35mm equivalent focal length of 305mm.
“This lens boasts exceptional image clarity with the ability to produce beautiful bokeh, making it an ideal lens for shooting sports and wildlife,” Fujifilm says.
The new 200mm will only be sold in a bundle with Fujifilm’s newly announced XF 1.4x TC f/2 WR Teleconverter, which turns the lens into the 35mm equivalent of a 427mm f/2.8 lens.
Specs and features of the 200mm include 19 elements in 14 groups, a Focus Preset function (instantly changes focus to a preset position), fluorine coating (on front element for better durability), linear motors (for fast, silent, and precise AF), 5-stop image stabilization, a magnesium alloy construction, a matte silver body (to prevent overheating), 17-point weather sealing, and temperature tolerance as low as 14°F/-10°C.
Fujinon XF8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR
The new Fujinon 8-16mm f/2.8 is an ultra-wide angle zoom lens with a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 and a 35mm equivalent focal range of 12-24mm.
“Capable of providing outstanding edge to edge image-resolving performance, this lens is perfect for landscape and architecture photography such as interior and nightscape, and astrophotography,” Fujifilm says.
Features and specs include 20 elements in 13 groups, linear motors for fast and quiet AF, Nano-GI coating (to reduce ghosting and flare), a floating lens element (for edge-to-edge sharpness and field curvature correction), 11-point weather sealing, and temperature tolerance down to 14°F/-10°C.

The new 200mm f/2 and 1.4x teleconverter bundle will be available in late October 2018 with a price tag of $6,000. The new 8-16mm f/2.8 will be available in late November 2018 with a price tag of $2,000.
