Heartbreaking Video Shows Cat Carrying His Lifeless Friend Back to Safety

A video showing a cat’s undying loyalty to its friend as it carries its lifeless body to safety went viral on Chinese social media, tugging at the heartstrings of netizens.

The heart-wrenching moment was caught on camera in the Songbei District of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, on July 2, according to the Daily Mail.

It is unclear how the striped cat died, but its white-and-yellow colored friend was determined not to leave its lifeless body lying around the streets of Songbei District.

The loyal cat tried really hard to carry the body of its friend, briefly stopping along the way to pick it up again. The cat eventually reaches a car and hides under it with the dead feline.

“Its friend’s dead, look at the cat,” one onlooker can be heard saying in the video.

The clip ends right as the cat goes under the vehicle.
