The new 'Doctor Who' title sequence is a real trip
For the eleventh series of Doctor Who, the beloved sci-fi show's title sequence has taken a trippier turn.
The latest season features Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, and she's landed with a shiny new theme and a kaleidoscopic title sequence — albeit missing the TARDIS whizzing around — which debuted on second episode "The Ghost Monument."
The sequence is the work of a visual effects artist only known as John Smith, who made his own opening back in 2010 as a 16-year-old fan and posted it to YouTube.
"I had no idea what I was doing, but was so excited for Matt Smith’s first series that I decided to try what every Whovian-turned-VFX-Artist does at some point… making my own title sequence for the show," Smith wrote in a Facebook post. Read more...
