NextShark Launches EASTERN PEOPLE, a New Clothing Collective for Asian Cultures

There used to be a time where many Asians in America felt they had to hide parts of their culture just to “fit in.” Our ethnic foods “smelled bed,” the way we looked was always “foreign,” and many of us were pushed to assimilate into something that wasn’t true to ourselves. It’s time we get back to living in the best cultures for us.

That’s why NextShark is proud to launch Eastern People, a clothing collective inspired by all the rich cultures of people from the East, designed by and for all Asians.

With thousands of years of incredible history, art and accomplishments to be proud of, it’s past time that Asian cultures get the representation they deserve in the modern world. By mixing style and the cultures we grew up with, we celebrate who we are, where we come from, and show the world how powerful of a community we are.

All of Eastern People’s designs are printed and shipped from Southern California, home to one of America’s largest Asian communities.

“Mày ham chơi quá!”

For kids who grew up in Vietnamese homes, chances are good that you’ve upset your parents enough for them to yell, “Mày ham chơi quá!” at you. It means, “You’re going out so much!” Got bad grades? Getting sick? It’s because you are going out so much!

Today, those kids are still about the ham chơi” life, or the “hunger to play.” Now, you can now snag your own Ham Chơi t-shirt and tank top!

The Ham Chơi t-shirts and tank tops are made of soft and comfy 100% combed cotton jersey.

Sizes come in unisex and cut slimmer than Western fits.

“Don’t eat that! It’s yeet hay!”

If you grew up in a Chinese household, odds are this has been yelled at you while you’re eating something that probably tastes great but isn’t great for you.

Yeet hay,” which translates to “hot air” in Cantonese, refers to foods that cause inflammation such as greasy, fried, and spicy foods, or the feeling you get after eating those kinds of food.

Eastern People’s Yeet Hay t-shirts are made from soft 100% combed cotton jersey.

The Yeet Hay design also comes in hoodie form. The mid-weight fleece is 80% ringspun cotton and 20% polyester.

Check out Eastern People’s other designs with more on the way!
