Disney is reportedly developing an Agatha Harkness show. We have ideas.
Marvel Studios is developing an Agatha Harkness WandaVision spinoff, according to sources at Variety. Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as the insidious, perfidious witch with WandaVision head writer and creator Jac Schaeffer at the helm.
Reps for Hahn and Schaeffer didn't respond to Variety, and Marvel is kind of known for their secrecy, so we don't expect to know much about this show any time soon.
However, just in case Marvel is looking for some ideas, we, uh, have some ideas.
1. The lost years
Agatha Harkness has been alive since at least the 16th century, when she killed all her fellow witches during the Salem Witch Trials and absorbed their power. This show will likely be highlights from her several centuries of terrorizing mortals and magical folk all over the world. Think Forrest Gump but with an evil sorceress. Agatha at war! Agatha causing plagues! Agatha in Congress!
2. The Westview prison
We last saw Agatha in the WandaVision finale, when Scarlet Witch imprisoned her in the suburbs of New Jersey as nosy neighbor Agnes. The real Agatha is still bumping around in there, and she overcame Wanda's magic once before. This show could be Agnes' quirky antics until she returns to full self-awareness and goes after Wanda...only, that's kind of the plot of WandaVision too.
3. M
What better way to reward Marvel fans who have been crying Mephisto since WandaVision's premiere? Agatha has quite a history with this literal devil in Marvel comics, and it's high time he made his MCU debut. The new show is supposed to be a dark comedy, but rom-coms can be dark too.
4. Inverted WandaVision
WandaVision parodied the American sitcom over the years, so what if Agatha's show riffs on classic dramas? Agatha's world via Mad Men, The Sopranos, Succession. Wow we need it now!!
5. A reality show
Well, a fake reality show, like 30 Rock's "Queen of Jordan" or any mockumentary — which we saw Agatha do in WandaVision episode 7. Imagine Agatha as a real housewife or competitor against other witches and superpowered beings! One thing is for sure: She's not here to make friends.
6. Another WandaVision reunion
Let's bring back Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Jimmy (Randall Park) to solve crimes together, but it's been Agatha all alone. Moonlighting without the sexual tension, and a big not-exclusively-bad to shape the overall story. What's not to love?
WandaVision is now streaming on Disney+.
