After Celine’s Dion husband, Rene Angelil, was laid to rest, Celine Dion had nothing but kind words to her supporters and fans. She called them a “blessing.” Rene Angelil and Celine Dion had been married for 21 years before Rene succumbed to cancer on Jan 14, 2016. Sadly, Dion lost her brother two days later to the same disease. Celine’s fans showed up in large numbers at the basilica where the couple got married to show their support. One Montreal resident that the couple was inseparable and Rene’s death meant Celine lost half of herself. The funeral had a live-broadcast and live-streamed on the Internet.
