Leave it to Rihanna to finally break the Billboard Hot 100's women dry spell
Rihanna put in the WORK.
Rihanna became the first woman to appear on the Billboard's Hot 100 Top 5 in 12 weeks on Monday, for being a featured artist in DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts."
For 12 weeks straight the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 featured zero female artists. Back in April, the last single with a female artist was Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik's “I Don't Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)."
This complete lack of women dominating the charts has not occurred since 1972.
