Library kindly asks its patrons not to pay their fines with Chuck E. Cheese tokens

A library in Danvers, Massachusetts has a simple request for its patrons: Could you please not pay your fines in Chuck E. Cheese tokens? 

The Peabody Institute Library issued the plea this week after "a surge of folks" tried to pay off their fines with the tokens, along with tokens from the similar local arcade Bonkers. Plus, seemingly, Canadian coins. 

"They are the size of quarters, so you have to pay attention," acting library director Jennifer McGeorge told The Salem News

The four tokens pictured in the library's Facebook post are the only ones the library mistakenly accepted, staff said. But that doesn't mean more well-read Chuck E. Cheese patrons won't try.  Read more...
