Taylor Swift wants to trademark the phrase 'The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now'
Notoriously business-savvy pop monarch Taylor Swift has played another trademark card.
Swift has filed to trademark a collection of phrases from her upcoming album Reputation, according to TMZ. Trademarked phrases will include the song title 'Look What You Made Me Do' and lyric "The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now."
TMZ reported that the trademarked phrases will be used for merchandising. Ostensibly, the trademark will cover the usual audio recordings, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and laptop cases. Oddly, it will also cover magnetically encoded gift cards, reusable shopping bags, ornamental cloth patches, shoe laces, and bathrobes. Not to mention, hosiery. Read more...
