Preset Brewery Lets You Use Lightroom Presets in Photoshop

If you want to quickly and easily use your Lightroom presets in Adobe Photoshop, there’s a new tool that can help you do so. It’s called Preset Brewery, and it hopes to fill a small gap in the needs of photographers.

Created by Czech developer Adam Bardon, the tool works by exporting the .lrtemplate files (your presets) and converting them to .XMP files. This then allows you to load them into the Camera Raw window for application in Photoshop.

First, you drag your Lightroom preset into the app.

This creates that separate .XMP file for you, translating your adjustments into a format that can be read by Photoshop. Once you open the raw file in Photoshop, you just head to the “Presets” tab and load in the new adjustments file.

The adjustments will be made, and then you can open the raw file in Photoshop and continue as normal.

An upcoming release of Preset Brewery will allow users to “batch process” the presets, rather than having to load them into the software individually like this.

Preset Brewery is currently available for Mac users only and costs $7.90 from the Preset Brewery website.
