Apple will replace batteries on some MacBook Pros
Apple is again saying it will replace batteries on some of its devices. This time, though, the issue isn't an iPhone — it's a MacBook.
Specifically, 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pros, which Apple says could have a defect that causes the battery to "expand."
It's not known just how many MacBooks are affected by the issue, but Apple says laptops produced between October 2016 and October 2017 are potentially affected.
You can check to confirm whether your laptop is affected by looking up your serial number on Apple's website.
Apple notes that the battery expansion "is not a safety issue," so it doesn't sound like people with MacBook Pros need to worry about their batteries suddenly exploding. Nevertheless, battery malfunctions are a serious issue, and one that obviously affects your ability to use your laptop, so it's probably a good idea to check yours. Read more...
