The new 'Lemon Face Challenge' is raising awareness for DIPG

Four years after the Ice Bucket Challenge raised $115 million for the fight against ALS, there's a new challenge springing up to raise awareness for an aggressive type of brain tumor that affects young children.

The Lemon Face Challenge is raising funds to combat diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG), an oft-terminal form of cancer in the brainstem that most commonly effects children aged 5 to 9 years old.

Instead of dumping ice-cold water on themselves, participants in the challenge are eating entire wedges of lemon and posting their best sour faces online. The challenge is meant to raise awareness of DIPG and encourage people to donate to the fight against it (h/t Washington Post). Read more...
