‘Fox and Friends’ Host Remembers When America ‘Defeated Communist Japan’
Ainsley Earhardt, one of the hosts of “Fox & Friends,” made a mistake on national television when she recalled the United States defeating “communist Japan” during World War II.

The major slip up happened when the 41-year-old TV personality was reacting to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s comment claiming that America was “never that great,” according to the Huffington Post.
“You know, we defeated communist Japan, radical Islamists. We ask our men and women to go overseas to fight for our country and sacrifice so much for our country so we can be the land of the free, the land of the brave,” Earhardt said.
“We’re the most generous country in all of the world. Yes, we have our faults, but because of this country our world is definitely a better place. We are great,” she continued.
At the end of her statement, her co-host Steve Doocy tried to swoop in to save the day by saying “communism AND Japan.” But one Twitter user found the failed attempt to be hilarious.
lol the attempt at saving her at the end is so good

Her misinformed history was further ridiculed by other Twitter users in the thread.
He could, but only because Teddy Roosevelt & his Rough Riders had that heroic stand against the Koreans at the Battle of New Orleans.

We had to punish the Japanese after they captured the Alamo and killed the whole garrison, including Spider-Man and Wonder Woman.

Here’s what other people are saying on Twitter:
@FoxNews needs to add to their programs the old recorded laughs. Then, everything would make sense

Surely we all remember where we were on the day when the United States defeated communist Japan. I was just returning from my first trip to Mars, when I heard the news. I looked down upon the flat earth below my gingerbread rocket ship & cheered… https://t.co/kdXf9rCrEz

During World War II, the United States allied itself with Russia, a former communist country, to defeat Germany and Japan.
Well, to be pedantic, it was ostensibly under the rule of a divine emperor, but was really pretty much run by the military. Much like it had been for centuries, when the shogun had all the power and the emperor was more or less a figurehead.
