Drink this delicious drink every morning to melt away fat and boost your metabolism
Boy do I have a drink for you that will help you to speed up your metabolism, and the best part is you most likely have all of these ingredients in your cupboard already! Did I mention that you even heat it up in the microwave?! What could be more simple, convenient, and low-maintenance than mixing something up and microwaving it, all under 5 minutes!
This drink in particular begins with one of my favorite bases honey dissolved into water till it is nice and golden! Now I have mentioned before how much I love honey water, but this drink also is spiced to the max! All the great flavorful ingredients are there: cinnamon, ginger, and lemon!
The result a sweet, slightly tart, and “spiced” beverage which has the ability to keep your metabolism on the go as it works to digest the fibrous spices in your system, and that isn’t even mentioning the added bonuses to other areas of health that those spices will have as they work their way through your body!
Honey is a natural sugar!
I suppose you could leave the honey out if the idea of putting sugar into your body worries you. However, sugar is one of the particular compounds that your body needs to survive, does the word “blood sugar” come to mind?. Regardless rest assured that raw, pure honey, being natural, is processed by your body in a much cleaner way than artificial sweeteners, and as such your body doesn’t hang on to it if it is unneeded in your body.
Cinnamon is a metabolism machine!
Cinnamon has the unique ability to act like insulin when it is in your body, greatly reducing the glycemic index of many foods!
Not only does this affect how sugar is processed in your body, but this carries over to carbohydrates! Essentially, this means that it is encouraging the foods that enter your body to metabolize in as speedy of a manner as it takes to metabolize the cinnamon itself!
Ginger “warms”, but won’t give you a tummy ache!
Ginger is a very interesting spice, as we know it as being great for those with heart burn or an upset stomach, as it promotes good digestion and settles any unusual acidic levels combined with its anti-inflammatory property.
Your body actually “warms up” a little to digest it as well, which as your body will have to cool itself down to maintain balance, works your metabolism!
Lemons are a welcome addition to the metabolism team!
The juice of half a lemon in your metabolism boosting brew will aid in increasing your metabolic rate, the rate that you will burn calories for energy, while at the same time alkalizing your body so that it isn’t too acidic, ironic am I right?
Metabolism Brew (adapted from a recipe by Ela Gale)
Ingredients:
A cup of hot water
Enough honey to turn it gold
A teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
A tablespoon of cinnamon
The juice of half a lemon
Instructions:
- Microwave a mug of water in your microwave, and then pour just enough honey into it to turn it gold!
- Finally, add your other ingredients and mix it all together!
- It’s okay if you notice that your cinnamon and ginger is not equally distributed! Drink before your lunch or huge dinner, as well as when you wake up and before you go to bed to begin experiencing the metabolism boosting effects over the next two weeks!
