Japanese Netizen Amazes Twitter With Adorable Shiba Buttholes You Can Eat

A Japanese netizen’s take on a traditional sweet has gone viral, thanks to an unorthodox design inspired by Japan’s most popular dog.

Twitter user Nao took the opportunity to play around with mitarashi dango, a traditional favorite made of sticky rice flour and served with a sweet, sticky glaze.

For context, “mitarashi” refers to the purifying water found in front of Shinto shrines, while “dango” means “dumplings.” This apparent oddity is explained by one theory that the dumplings take the shape of water bubbles, according to SoraNews24.

With its plain look, it’s not surprising that some would want to add embellishments to make it more attractive.

Nao, for her part, created the Shiba Inu dango — featuring its booties:

If you haven’t already noticed, Nao used some dried nori seaweed to make the details.
