Twitter is Loving Chrissy Teigen’s Savage Correction of Ivanka Trump’s Grammar

Chrissy Teigen has fashioned herself as one of Donald Trump’s many vocal critics on social media in recent years, and when she’s roasting the President and his family on Twitter, she always brings her A-game.

Earlier this week, the model/actress, who currently has over 7 million followers on the platform, called out the president’s oldest daughter Ivanka Trump for her English grammar blunder via a tweet.

Donald Trump had just spoken at the United Nations General Assembly when Ivanka shared a photo of herself holding her new nephew Luke on Twitter, saying “Cuddling my little nephew Luke… the best part of an otherwise incredible day!”

Noticing Ivanka’s poor choice of the word “otherwise” (in an otherwise alright sentence), Teigen pointed out her grammatical error via a reply on the tweet.

‘”Otherwise” implies you did not like hangin with this baby” Teigen replied matter-of-factly.

“Doesn’t she mean the rest of the day was incredible, and cuddling her nephew was even better?'” Twitter user Tom Davies asked to clarify, and Teigen obliged with the proper term: “Overall, is the word.”

Overall, is the word.

The Lip Sync Battle host further explained her point to Buzzfeed: “In this context, ‘otherwise’ is an adverb that means ‘in other respects’ or ‘apart from that’. — you generally use it to say something is true, except for the thing you’ve just mentioned. So, yes, Ivanka said that seeing her nephew was ‘the best,’ but the rest of her day was actually incredible.”

Teigen’s criticism on the Trumps has, apparently, not faltered even after the Donald actually blocked her on the app last July when she tweeted: “Lolllllll no one likes you,” as a response to the President’s complaints on uncooperative Republicans.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Teigen told People in July after the “presidential’ blocking.” “I have been very anti-Trump since The Apprentice, like when it first started, so it didn’t start during the presidency like everyone thinks. This goes pretty deep.”

“I don’t even follow him so I’m definitely fine being blocked. There’s just this part of me that’s so happy that he had to actually do that. It’s just funny,” she added.
