HTC U11 Plus could land on November 2
HTC’s already launched two flagships this year, with the HTC U11 and HTC U Ultra, but it seems the company isn’t done, as something new is coming on November 2.
We know that date because Phandroid reports that HTC has been sending out invites for an announcement then in Taiwan, what’s not confirmed is what we’ll see, but there’s reason to think there’ll be a new flagship, known as the HTC U11 Plus.
A big ‘U’ on the invite tells us that whatever’s coming will be a new entry in the U range, and we’ve previously heard rumors of an HTC U11 Plus.
These suggest that it will be a bigger and potentially better version of the HTC U11, with a 5.99-inch 1,440 x 2,880 screen, a Snapdragon 835 chipset, a choice of 4GB or 6GB of RAM paired with 64GB or 128GB of storage, a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing one, along with a waterproof build.
There's life in the U range
And that might not be all we’ll see, as a phone known as the HTC U11 Life could also land, slotting in below the HTC U11.
According to known leaker @LlabTooFeR this will have a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 630 chipset, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, 16MP cameras on both the front and back, a 2,600mAh battery, IP67 water resistance and Edge Sense (which lets you squeeze the sides to interact with it). It’s also apparently part of Google’s budget Android One program.
We don’t know for sure that both of these phones will be announced on November 2, but it’s very likely that at least one of them will be and we wouldn’t be surprised if we see both, since HTC will probably want to get them out before people start their holiday shopping.
