HTC U11 Plus pictured for the very first time
We could be just weeks away from the launch of the flagship HTC U11 Plus, yet we’re only just now seeing pictures of it.
Unsurprisingly it looks a lot like the standard HTC U11 based on these renders, which were obtained by reputable leaker @OnLeaks on behalf of CouponRaja.
You can see there’s the same shimmery glass back, a single-lens camera, a USB-C port and no 3.5mm headphone port.
However, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back, allowing for the home button that’s found below the screen on the U11 to seemingly be removed altogether on the HTC U11 Plus, and with it the bezels look to have been slightly slimmed down.
Alongside the images, @OnLeaks has added that the screen is apparently 6 inches, which we’ve heard before, and that the dimensions are 158.2 x 74.6 x 9.1mm, which would make the HTC U11 Plus slightly longer and thicker than the 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9mm HTC U11.
Bigger for a reason
The extra length is no surprise, since the HTC U11 only has a 5.5-inch screen, but the extra thickness does seem a bit odd. There’s a possible explanation though: the battery, which according to @LlabTooFeR (another reasonably reputable leaker) will be around 4,000mAh, up from just 3,000mAh in the HTC U11.
And that’s not all the HTC U11 Plus news we have, because HTC itself has also posted a “save the date” image to its UK Twitter account, with a November 2 date and the words “We’re bringing something new for the brilliant U.”
The company has already sent out similar invites in Taiwan but this all but confirms that the HTC U11 Plus – or whatever’s coming - is also launching in the UK.
