Asian Family Seeks Justice For a Hit and Run That Left Daughter Severely Injured, Puppy Dead
An Asian American family from New Jersey is hoping social media can bring justice to the tragic loss of their dog and injury caused to their teenage child.
In a Facebook post, Andrew Huang and his wife Daisy narrated how their 13-year-old daughter and family puppy became the unfortunate victims of hit and run.
The vehicle, later identified by witnesses as “a 2007-2009 gray/champagne-colored Ford Expedition”, sped away as Huang’s daughter lay sprawled on the street bleeding and unconscious along her dying puppy named Panda. According to the social media post, the incident happened on May 10 at 6:18 p.m. near the Huang’s home in Cranbury, New Jersey.
In their public Facebook plea posted on Monday, the family stated they are seeking for any information leading to the discovery of the car and driver who hit their daughter and dog.
“I’m reaching out to all of you in the hopes that the power of social media can help my family solve a horrific crime.
This video contains footage from my home security system moments before my 13-year-old daughter was struck by a hit and run driver in Cranbury, NJ around 6:18 pm on May 10th, as well as the excruciating aftermath that my family, including my three younger children, suffered. I was not home at the time and this footage is painful for me to watch. I wish I could have been there and done something…
The driver hit my daughter, leaving her bleeding and unconscious on the road, killed our dog, and fled the scene of the crime.
Please share and help spread the word that this driver is still on the loose — witnesses say he was a white male with a beard, driving a 2007-2009 grey/champagne-colored Ford Expedition.
If you know someone who fits this description (or who may have shaved his beard or changed his appearance recently), or know anyone who owns body shops, car washes, junk yards, etc. and might have seen or encountered this vehicle, please call the Cranbury Police Department as soon as possible at 609-395-0031.”
The post also included a video clip which can be viewed here. In an update on Thursday, the Huangs added that they will be including a monetary reward for those who can help them solve the crime:
“I’m offering a $5K CASH reward to whoever has information that leads to his arrest and conviction.
AND:
Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey now says cash rewards are being offered to anyone who wants to provide information anonymously and to contact Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc. via phone or website:
