Bay Area Teens Allegedly Run Over, Rob Asian Woman in Troubling Video

Police are reportedly looking for a Volkswagen that witnesses say hit an Asian woman in Union City, California.

A short video of the hit-and-run was posted on Twitter on July 31 by joelil, who said that “three black teenagers” ran over the Asian woman’s leg and drove off with her purse on Alvarado-Niles Road.

If anyone sees three black teenagers in a Volkswagen Jetta brand new with a WOW license plate, please call 911 they just ran over this Chinese lady’s leg and stole her purse (and that might be her car) they almost hit my car. This was in union city on Alvarado Niles Rd pic.twitter.com/vu1dxQpf0p

In a follow-up post, joelil described the culprits as “Two guys one girl. Girl had a pink and or purple streak in her hair.”

Another witness posted on Instagram that the Asian woman was blocking the car that the suspects were in and yelling “I need to call the cops.”

The woman said the teenagers were acting “crazy” and the brand new car they drove off with may have belonged to her as well.

“I’m so mad that there’s people like this but dang that was wild I was shaking from fear and anger,” hiitsmejalil said on Instagram.

While witnesses and police officers confirmed that the vehicle that drove off was a Jetta, netizens say that it’s a 2018 Volkswagen Passat V6 GT.
