Even the 12 best jobs in tech have terrible gender and race wage gaps
The tech industry likes to make lists: the jobs that pay the most, the best companies to work for, the companies that pay the most.
Despite all the conversation surrounding diversity and discrimination in Silicon Valley, those lists rarely account for the different results employees actually encounter based on their identities.
Comparably has a new list out that breaks down exactly what employees in the tech industry are making based on gender and race.
The jobs site analyzed anonymized salary records from 30,000 workers in its database submitted between March 2016 and August 2017. Then the site found the average salaries for each role and the average salaries for each role by race and gender. Read more...
